"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

-Margaret Mead

TRAILER COMING SOON

Anyone anywhere can make a difference, but combining that individual with other like-minded individuals can start a movement and cultural change.

Through this theme, we specifically look at the issue of single-use plastics. We highlight the key players in the single-use plastic ban that occurred in Honolulu in 2019, but took ten years of work leading up to its passing.

We look at why, at this point in time, legislation has become a necessary force to deal with human’s negative impact on the environment. We look at the process of recycling and waste management locally and globally, as well as unveil common misconceptions.

We also point out that individuals and businesses can influence government, government and businesses can influence individuals, and individuals and government can influence businesses. It is when all three components work in sync to achieve similar goals that we change how society functions now and into the future.

While the COVID-19 pandemic created a minor set back, April 1, 2021 the first phase of the single-use plastic phase out bill went into effect.

Some thoughts from our Creator.....

....It’s only been 2 years since the entire world drastically changed and the covid-19 pandemic began. But let’s be honest for a second, the world truly changed in 2016 with an election. For this election was the beginning of the fastest environmental policy rollbacks in history, and it was the election that determined the lifelong appointments of 3 Supreme Court Justices who all shared a pro-life mentality.

In 2016, despite the popular vote, a handful of electoral votes determined the next US president based upon the process set forth in the supremely outdated constitution of the United States. When the die hard liberals lost their beloved candidate Bernie Sanders, many lost complete interest in the election, casting aside their desire to vote and paving the way for one of the most influential leaders of all time to take charge.

Now, here we are entering a parallel universe of backwards and once again we are being gawked at by the entire world as they must sincerely think our country has gone crazy. Protests have been erupting off and on since 2016- I don't think I’ve ever seen so much protesting on so many varying issues as I have since 2016. We are in a war on human rights, and we allowed for this to happen.

HOWEVER, the power is returning to the states in a way that only lessens the unity of our country. BUT we are heading into an election and NOW is the chance to ensure we have good people leading our states and counties. We have the chance to get involved with campaigns for candidates, to help folks register to vote, and to help them vote informed. We have the power to work with good elected leaders once they get in office so that we can effect change for the whole community. The time is now, what are you waiting for?
